The people of the Gomà-Camps Group, we are very pleased with the certification of Zero Waste from AENOR for our operational centres in La Riba, Vilaverd and Valls in Tarragona and Ejea de los Caballeros in Zaragoza. The AENOR certificate of Zero Waste credits our company with valuing all its fractions of waste, preventing it from having the landfill as its final destination. This certificate has helped the correct optimisation of the processes, with the focus on waste production points contributing to the momentum of the Circular Economy.
The Zero Waste certificate recognises companies who favour sustainability as a strategic framework for the development of their activity and who value the different fractions of the waste they generate by preventing them from having their disposal in landfill as their final destination. The standard of Zero Waste is framed in the Circular Economy model, whose goal at the level of waste is to reverse the current pyramid based on the concept of using and throwing and moving to a model that will increase reduction, reuse, recycling and recovery. The idea is that each waste from one process can be one raw material for another, maximising the value of raw materials, increasing energy saving, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, a premise that is alien to our business strategy and our commitment to sustainability.
In order to achieve this objective, we have had the commitment and involvement of employees and employees who have consistently managed to adapt the operation of operational centers and productive processes to an environmentally sustainable system, minimising the impact of our activity until the Zero Waste certification is achieved.
This is yet another action within the Gomà-Camps strategy towards a business that is increasingly concerned about the environment and linked to the concerns of society, with the aim of achieving a more sustainable environment.
